Job description

A leading enterprise financial services organization is seeking a Director of AI Governance to lead enterprise initiatives focused on responsible AI, data governance, regulatory compliance, and enterprise data management.

This role will drive governance strategies that enable secure, compliant, and scalable AI adoption while strengthening enterprise data quality, governance, and reporting capabilities. Working closely with senior business, technology, data, and risk leaders, you will establish governance frameworks that support modern analytics, cloud platforms, and enterprise AI initiatives across a highly regulated environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for a strategic governance leader who enjoys building enterprise governance programs, influencing executive stakeholders, and helping organizations responsibly scale Artificial Intelligence.

What You'll Tackle:
  • Lead enterprise-wide AI governance and data governance initiatives across business and technology organizations.
  • Develop governance standards supporting enterprise analytics, machine learning, and AI initiatives.
  • Design governance frameworks that enable responsible AI adoption while managing regulatory and operational risk.
  • Define governance processes supporting critical business data, enterprise reporting, and AI-driven decision making.
  • Build governance operating models supporting enterprise AI, analytics, and cloud transformation initiatives.
  • Improve enterprise data quality through measurable governance controls, policies, and standards.
  • Partner with architecture, engineering, analytics, cybersecurity, legal, compliance, and risk teams to embed governance across enterprise platforms.
  • Develop and maintain metadata standards, business glossaries, data lineage documentation, Critical Data Elements (CDEs), and data stewardship processes.
  • Present governance metrics, program maturity, and strategic recommendations to executive leadership.
  • Support governance initiatives across cloud-based enterprise data platforms and modern analytics environments.
  • Drive continuous improvement across governance policies, operating procedures, and enterprise standards.
  • Help establish enterprise AI guardrails, governance controls, and risk management processes supporting responsible AI adoption.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Extensive experience leading enterprise Data Governance and AI Governance programs.
  • Experience governing Artificial Intelligence, machine learning, and advanced analytics initiatives.
  • Experience introducing AI governance frameworks, enterprise AI guardrails, and AI data integration strategies within a regulated enterprise environment.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise AI Risk Management and governance practices.
  • Deep knowledge of regulatory reporting, enterprise data management, and governance operating models.
  • Strong expertise in:
  • Data Quality.
  • Metadata Management.
  • Business Glossaries.
  • Data Lineage.
  • Data Stewardship.
  • Critical Data Elements (CDEs).
  • Experience partnering with executive leadership and cross-functional business and technology stakeholders.
  • Experience implementing governance practices across enterprise cloud environments.
  • Familiarity with governance platforms such as Microsoft Purview, Collibra, Alation, or similar enterprise governance solutions.
  • Excellent executive communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to translate AI risks, regulatory requirements, and business objectives into practical governance processes.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
  • Experience within financial services, banking, insurance, healthcare, or another highly regulated industry.
  • Experience supporting enterprise reporting environments.
  • Responsible AI governance experience.
  • Experience with cloud-native data platforms and modern analytics ecosystems.
  • Microsoft technology ecosystem experience.
  • Multilingual communication skills, including Mandarin.
