Organizational Location : This position is with the Department of Homeland Security within U.S. Customs and Border Protection Office of Information and Technology Enterprise Infrastructure and Operations Directorate located in Ashburn VA.

Duties
Joining Customs and Border Protection Office of Information and Technology will allow you to use your expertise in Information Technology (IT) principles concepts and methods to support IT systems and services. This position starts at a salary of $121785.00 (GS-13 Step 1) to $158322.00 (GS-13 Step 10) with promotion potential to $158322 (GS-13 Step 10).
In this Information Technology Specialist (Data Management) position you will become a key team member of Homeland Security professionals. Major duties of this position include :
- Analyzing data as well as existing and new business requirements to propose data standards policies and procedures to support data governance.
- Defining roles and responsibilities related to data governance and ensure clear accountability for data stewardship in the Organization.
- Facilitating the development and implementation of data quality standards data protection standards and adoption requirements across the enterprise.
- Serving as a liaison between Organizational and Mission Support areas and technology ensuring that data related business requirements for protecting sensitive data are clearly defined communicated and understood.
- Collaborating with leadership and stakeholders to obtain required resources information deadlines or pertinent decisions established to address or resolve any major work issues that may arise.

Basic Requirement : Individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below.
You qualify for this position if you meet the basic requirement listed above and possess one year of specialized experience as described below.
Experience : You qualify for the GS-13 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level performing duties such as :

Residency : There is a residency requirement for all applicants not currently employed by CBP.
