Position Summary :
The Department of Data Science at New Jersey Institute of Technology(NJIT) invites applications for tenure-track faculty positions starting inFall 2025, with an emphasis on Applied Machine Learning / Data Science withspecific interests in applications to health informatics, medical informatics,or educational data mining. Exceptional candidates in other areas will alsobe considered.
Essential Functions :
Facultyare expected to teach graduate and undergraduate courses for the Data ScienceDepartment.
Conduct research, participate in scholarly activities such as publishingpapers, presenting work at conferences, and obtaining funding; advise andsupport graduate, undergraduate and postdoctoral students.
Prerequisite Qualifications :
Applicants must have a Ph.D. degree by Summer 2025 in a relevantdiscipline, and outstanding academic credentials that demonstrate their abilityto conduct independent world-class research and attract external funding.
Thesuccessful candidate is also expected to show a commitment to bothundergraduate and graduate education.
Atthe university's discretion, the education and experience prerequisites may beexempted where the candidate can demonstrate to the satisfaction of theuniversity, an equivalent combination of education and experience specificallypreparing the candidate for success in the position.
