Job Title : Science Teacher
Direct Supervisor : Principal
Contract Days : 10 Months (Academic School Year)
Position Responsibilities :
- Establish daily objectives that align to the Next Generation Science Standards, Common Core Standards and Missouri Learning Standards
- Plan for, differentiate and guide the learning process to ensure all students achieve the objectives
- Facilitate hands-on activities and real world learning projects that allow students to learn by experiencing and exploring
- Implement useful formative and summative assessment measures
- Select and utilize effective instructional methods and learning materials
- Maintain a clean and organized classroom environment that is conducive to learning
- Use discipline models of Restorative Justice to maintain a positive, encouraging learning environment
- Establish a cooperative and collaborative relationship with students, staff and families to achieve the overall purposes of the school program
- Maintain open lines of communication with parents / guardians
- Participate in routine meetings, trainings and professional development
- Regular and dependable attendance
- Additional assigned duties such as lunch duty, early arrival AM duty, dismissal duty etc.
