AI And Data Science Administrator

Come join a dynamic and collaborative team advancing AI and Data Science at BYU. The AI and Data Science Administrator plays a key role in supporting and coordinating AI and data science initiatives within the College of Computing, Math and Science and across the broader university. Working under the direction of the AI and Data Science Committee, this position provides administrative leadership for programs, events, communications, and collaborations that strengthen cross-disciplinary engagement, support faculty and student success, and promote BYU's AI and data science efforts both on campus and beyond.

What you will be doing in this position :

• Collaborate with the committee to design and implement new AI and Data Science programs and initiatives.
• Assess performance of programs, events, and initiatives after execution.
• Update the data science website : Keep website current, including faculty lists, research opportunities, and course offerings, upcoming events calendar.
• Keep track of all data and information needed to support the initiatives and programs of the committee.
• Handle logistics for AI and Data Science seminars, including travel for visitors, recordings, and advertising, in coordination with multiple departments.
• Organize conferences put on by the AI and DS committee, including the AI for Good conference. Coordinate with multiple co-sponsors across the state and nationally. Also organize travel for invited speakers, recordings, and advertising.
• Collect content for and send weekly Newsletter to faculty and students about upcoming events, research collaborations, and job opportunities.
• Ensure BYU AI and Data Science are well represented at state- and national-level Data Science, machine learning, and AI events, committees, and initiatives.
• Assist with meetings, planning, coordination, and logistical matters.
• Coordinate with the College accountants to track the budget and expenses of the committee. Assist with proposal writing. Coordinate with college assistant dean for fund raising related to AI and Data Science.

What qualifies you for this role :

Minimum education / experience required : Bachelor's degree

Preferred education / experience : Experience organizing and administrating large projects and events. Experience with data analysis and spreadsheets. Experience with website management tools.

Pay Grade : 51

Typical Starting Pay : $28.25-$36.25
