Job descriptionOver 5 years of experience in Oracle database engineering in a production environment Over 5 years of experience in PostgreSQL database engineering in a production environment Strong proficiency in UNIX / Linux systems Experience with clustering, replication, and mirroring is a plus In-depth knowledge of database performance tuning and configuration tools Excellent technical problem-solving skills are essential Knowledge of SAN (Storage Area Network) is a plus Proficient in T-SQL or PL / SQL Experience with MS SQL Server, InfluxDB, or MySQL is a plus Proven ability to thrive in an agile, fast-paced environment, effectively prioritize multiple tasks and projects, and manage pressure Self-motivated with a strong sense of initiative and willingness to take on new challenges Demonstrated ability to work effectively in teams and collaborate across departments Quick to learn new technologies and adapt to changing work environments Strong understanding of and ability to adhere to SDLC, source control, and change management processes Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Responsibilities :
- Proactively manage and optimize multiple database platforms and their associated operating system environments
- Tune database performance and optimize query efficiency
- Set up, maintain, and manage both production and non-production databases
- Perform database backups, restores, log shipping, mirroring, replication, and related tasks
- Collaborate with the system engineering team to install, configure, and optimize database servers, as well as conduct system performance tuning and capacity planning
- Work closely with development teams on database design, implementation, and performance optimization
- Address production and business-critical issues and requirements in a timely manner
