Position SummaryThe AWS RDS Database Engineer performs independently or as a key multi-functional team member in identifying, planning, developing, and deploying database applications and other technology solutions that can involve multiple physical locations and business units. Acts as the single point of contact for AWS database administration and escalations for the Banking Industry project. Summary Of Essential Job Functions • 10-12 years of experience in managing Postgres databases. 5 years of experience should be on the cloud version preferably AWS experience in managing databases as RDS services in AWS, security policy, user authentication, IAM, and database administration in AWS. • Install, configure, patch, Migrate, Maintain, and upgrade Open-source Database platforms Databases like PostgreSQL, and AWS RDS • Working Knowledge of EDB, Oracle, SQL Server and AWS Day to Day operation on S3 EC2 etc • Should be able to implement effective and maintainable database coding practices that form an architectural foundation • Experience in Postgres SQL performance improvement, indexing/other approaches Good experience on partitioning database • Experience with message queuing, full-text indexing, and other high-performance data concepts • Experience in AWS environment management and knowledge of different tools for the same • Experience in Postgres SQL migration approach, estimating it, and technically managing it • Advanced understanding of Linux OS, use SSH to connect to remote systems with password & public/private keys • Ability to efficiently write database code without compromising data quality, privacy, or security. • Hands-on Experience in Jira, GitHub, Ansible & Terraform. • Good understanding of CI/CD using GitLab • Good understanding of the Batch process and Job scheduling automation • Knowledge of database design principles, query optimization, index management, integrity checks, statistics, and isolation levels • Good troubleshooting skills, Ability to evaluate alternative solutions and/or workarounds 1 Strong analytical, and interpersonal communication skills • Must possess good communication skills, both in verbal and in written form, and be Proficient in identifying, analyzing, and solving problems for Client facing experience • Proficient in identifying, analyzing, and solving problems and Client facing experience Position Requirements • AWS RDS hands-on experience • Capacity planning, performance assessment of AWS RDSs • Strong Postgres/SQL Server DB administration experience in production environments • Configuration and support of complex RDS Databases in AWS environment, Configuring and managing high availability, resiliency solutions leveraging Aurora Read replicas & Global Database • Experience in managing multiple RDS, database versions on large systems • Practical experience in monitoring • Knowledge of reporting and query tools and practices • Experience in using Performance Insights, RDS KPI design and management. • Working knowledge of Lambda, Python • Strong technical and functional experience in PostgreSQL Admini stration and associated tools like PgBouncer, PgPool and other related binaries.
