About The Job
We are seeking an experienced Senior Database Engineer to join team with expertise in database management and configuration in Brightly’s public cloud-based infrastructure. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining cloud-based database systems. This role involves ensuring the availability, performance, and security of databases hosted on cloud platforms. The engineer collaborates with development and operations teams to integrate databases with applications and optimize cloud resources. What You’ll Be Doing (responsibilities)
- Oversee the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of cloud-based databases.
- Support mission-critical SQL databases with advanced troubleshooting skills for performance and tuning.
- Optimize database systems to ensure they are robust and efficient.
- Analyze solutions and implement best practices for database management.
- Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes, for efficiency and cost optimization.
- Create, maintain, and documents processes for managing production database systems.
- Create tools and automation to simplify database operations and improve efficiency.
- Keep up to date with the latest technology trends.
- Work closely with the DevOps teams on production changes, incident mitigation, support application integration and deployment
- Provide database expertise to engineering teams.
- Perform capacity planning including future storage requirements.
- Lead database-related projects, ensuring timely delivery and implementation of new features.
