Job Summary
Under the direction of the Vice President of Academic Affairs or designee, the Associate Dean of West Essex Campus is responsible for the administrative operation of Enrollment Services, Academic Offerings, Campus Services and all ancillary administrative functions of the West Essex Campus.

Supervisory Role Oral and written instructions are received from the Vice President of Academic Affairs or designee. The Associate Dean of West Essex Campus supervises administrative, professional, support staff and student workers. Duties & Responsibilities 1. Responsible for providing the administrative supervision needed for the branch campus to excel and to advance the College’s programs, teaching, learning and service missions.2. Provide leadership to insure the administrative operations efficiency as well as the academic program offerings at the branch campus.3. Contribute to the College strategic planning and curriculum development to include the programs to meet the needs of the western part of the County.4. Work with Academic Affairs to establish viable in-demand academic programs that meet the needs of the western part of the County.5. Collaborate with the appropriate area heads and develop and implement effective recruitment and marketing strategies to improve enrollment and retention.6. Plan, develop and promote strategies to deliver effective student services at the campus to include but not limited to recruitment, admissions, registration, testing, scheduling, bursar, financial aid, student activities, and computer resources.7. Serve as liaison to the West Essex Campus Advisory Board.8. Work collaboratively with Community, Continuing Education and Workforce Development area to provide other offerings to the community including cooperative partnerships with school districts and various organizations.
9. Work with chairpersons to recruit, train, assign and evaluate all instructors for the West Essex campus.
10. Develop and monitor college budgets to meet needs of the campus.
11. Coordinate in hiring, training, evaluating, and maintaining staff at the campus.
12. Prepare routine, special and ancillary reports as required.

Additional Requirements Minimum Qualifications Experience (number of years), Knowledge and / or Abilities 1. Master’s degree preferably in business, administration, or relevant higher education leadership with the focus on community college.
2. Demonstrated knowledge and experience of college administration, policies and procedures, preferably at the community college level.
3. Experienced in the administration of instructional and community related programs, preferably at the community college level.
4. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse college staff and student populations as well as external constituents within a multi-cultural environment.
5. Commitment to the philosophy of a comprehensive community college preparing to meet the needs of a global economy.
6. Excellent analytic, problem solving, decision making, and organizational skills.
7. Excellent interpersonal skills.
8. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Education Requirements Master’s Degree Licenses and Certifications (including e.g., CPR, first aid, driver’s license, etc.) Preferred Qualifications Experience (number of years), Knowledge and / or Abilities 1. Preferably a Doctoral candidate or degree2. Demonstrated progressive experience in the administration of instructional and community related programs.2. Demonstrated ability to provide vision and strong leadership in all matters pertaining to instructional and community related programs.3. Demonstrated knowledge of record management and maintenance, preferably the Banner system.
