The Brownstone Building OPD Dental program is dedicated to providing comprehensive Dental Hygiene care, General Dentistry and Oral Maximal Facial Surgical treatments. Staffing includes full time and part time dentists, dental surgeons, and residents in training as well as dental hygienists and dental assistants. A high standard of excellence in personalized dental care enables us to provide exceptional dental services for our patients. We offer a full range of services that Monday thru Friday 8 : 15am-4 : 30PM.
Services include the following :
General Dentistry (for both adults & kids), Dental Cleanings & Exams, Cosmetic Dentistry, Crowns & Bridges, Fillings, Root Canal Therapy, Extractions, Bonding, Fluoride Treatment, Teeth Whitening, Dental Implants, Dentures, and Periodontal treatments.
Job Summary :
Perform dental hygiene techniques to patients according to Department of Dentistry standards and policies. Reports of Director of Department of Dentistry. Dental Hygiene License, Dentrix knowledge, HIPPA education, H3W behaviors understanding.
Job Responsibilities :
Performs routine dental hygiene services and procedures including dental prophylaxis, extraoral and intraoral exam, scaling to remove hard / soft deposits, fluoride, sealants and scaling & root planning to dental patients according to department protocols and following established procedures for providing good quality patient care; completion of a thorough assessment of the patients oral health : including teeth, bone, and periodontal tissues, and document any abnormalities or suspected conditions; makes appropriate diagnosis within scope of knowledge to Dental Director to ensure overall quality of care; customize care to meet patients oral health and acknowledge and identify if patient expresses an unmet health need; recording and reviewing patient medical histories and taking precautions as indicated by the policies of the Department of Dentistry; providing patient education regarding oral care and prevention of oral disease; Offer patients recommendations and materials necessary to maintain good dental health; counselling patients and keeping them calm during examination and treatment; assistance to the Dentist if required.
Demonstrates and maintains current knowledge and technical skills in assisting with the care of patients in the following age groups : geriatric, adult, pediatric; maintaining current with the latest developments in dental hygiene; maintains HIPPA practices all relevant to regulatory compliance and safety requirements; completes dental x-rays and processes x-ray film with Dexis Digital software system.
Maintenance and care of supplies, equipment and facilities within the Department of Dentistry; monitoring, and documenting room inventory and resupplying treatment area on a daily or on a as needed basis and monthly; maintain a surgically clean work environment. maintaining and sterilizing dental equipment
In a timely manner, addresses all education required for license, included but not limited to continuing education credits, yearly validations, HS education.
Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent required.
Graduate of an ADA dental hygiene program.
Two (2) years in a dental practice.
CT State License in Dental Hygiene.
CPR certification.
Certificate of Local Anesthesia, preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Ability Requirements :
Strong working knowledge of dental terminology, equipment and practices
Consistently demonstrates the ability to work collaboratively and maintain a positive relationship with the dental team to provide optimum care.
Recognize and respond to medical and or dental emergencies as per Department of Dentistry guidelines
Demonstrates continuous improvement mindset, ingenuity and innovative thinking and organizations skills.
Attention to detail.
Maintains HIPPA p.ractices all relevant regulatory compliance and safety requirements.
