Role description :
Arcadis seeks a Roadway Design Engineer to join our Florida Roadway Team. This position can be in Tampa or Jacksonville.
This is an exciting opportunity for you to join our team locally with support from one of the best qualified consulting firms in the country. In this position you will utilize your technical knowledge as part of our local project team, developing innovative solutions throughout the national market. Role accountabilities :
- Infrastructure Project Development : You will contribute to the development of roadway projects by assisting in project scopes, budgets, and planning. This may involve collaborating with a team or working independently to identify project requirements and objectives.
- Technical Design : You will be responsible for the technical design of minor projects, including roadways, intersections, streets, expressways, and interchanges. This entails using engineering principles, standards, and software tools to develop detailed plans and specifications for construction.
- Production Lead and Task Leader : Depending on the project size and complexity, you may assume the role of production lead or task leader. In these capacities, you will coordinate and oversee the work of design / drafters and other team members, ensuring that project deliverables are produced efficiently and accurately.
- Support to Project Manager and Lead Engineers : You will provide support to the Project Manager and lead engineers in various aspects of project management. This can include assisting in client communication and coordination, monitoring project progress, and ensuring compliance with Arcadis practices, including quality and safety standards.
- Client Interface and Needs Assessment : You will interact with clients to understand their needs and requirements for roadway projects. This involves effective communication, maintaining client relationships, and addressing any concerns or issues that arise during project development and design.
- Mentoring and Development : As an experienced engineer, you will mentor and guide junior staff members and design / drafters. This includes providing technical guidance, sharing best practices, and facilitating their professional development within the organization.
- Project Planning and Scheduling : You will contribute to the development of project plans and schedules, ensuring that project milestones and deadlines are met. This involves effective time management, resource allocation, and coordination with other disciplines or stakeholders involved in the project.
- Compliance and Standards : You will ensure that all aspects of the roadway projects adhere to Arcadis practices, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. This includes maintaining quality control processes, conducting technical reviews, and addressing safety considerations.
