Design Engineer
Description :
As a pivotal member of the NPD team, the Electrical Design Engineer plays a unique role, serving as the crucial link between product ideation and production. This role involves designing with manufacturing in mind while pushing the boundaries of what is achievable to ensure the best product performance and user experience. This individual will be designing industrial heaters, sensors, and controllers : Creating detailed plans and specifications for these components. Collaborating with customers : Working closely with sales team to understand the clients requirements and work with them to create designs to match them. They will be doing redlines on current designs and updating existing models.
Manage multiple projects from concept to production.
Translate marketing requirements into technical performance requirements.
Establish product architecture, including part breakout and material selection.
Create proof of principle prototypes.
Own all aspects of 3D and 2D Solid Works deliverables.
Utilize CAE analysis tools to raise confidence in design.
Establish product manufacturing specifications and critical quality metrics.
Collaborating closely with the design team and vendors to balance intent with
manufacturability and performance.
Technical documentation of critical project decisions and design changes.
Regular reporting to cross-functional and leadership teams on crucial project indicators schedule, budget, and quality.
Additional Skills & Qualifications :
- Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience
- Prefers experience doing electrical design vs. mechanical design in SolidWorks
- 2+ years of design experience
Job Type
This is a 12 month contract to hire position.
Work Site
This is a fully on-site position in Austin, Texas.
