• Job Description

AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated

• Senior Bridge / Project Design Engineer
• for employment in the Baton Rouge or the New Orleans, LA. offices.

This career enhancing position will involve performing transportation structure design analysis, including plan preparation of structures throughout Louisiana, the greater U.S. Gulf Coast, as well as exposure to and contributing to project work throughout the Western U.S.

This important role offers participation in a variety of challenging projects and a dynamic work environment due to the number, type, and size of bridges that make up the vast portfolio of the experienced bridge group this engineer will be joining.

• Lead Structural Engineer on projects, including reviewing calculations, designs, and plans.
• Managing bridge projects, including design tasks and coordination of work with engineering staff.
• Business development oriented looking to help grow an established bridge group backed by national support and expertise.
• Providing specialized technical input on transportation-related projects.
• Conceptual, preliminary, and detailed design of new bridges utilizing prestressed concrete, reinforced concrete, structural steel, and timber components.
• Inspection, assessment, and rehabilitation design of existing bridges.
• Load rating evaluation of existing bridges.
• Proficient in the use of computer software for the analysis and design of complex structures.
• Experience in preparation of technical specifications and design documents, report writing, technical engineering support, and limited inspection during construction.
• Qualifications
• Minimum Requirements :
• Bachelor's degree + 6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and / or education
• Preferred Qualifications :
• Minimum of 8+ years' experience in bridge design.
• A current PE license in the State of Louisiana.
• Master's degree in structural engineering.
• Knowledgeable of AASHTO standard engineering practices, techniques, and applicable Codes.
• Strong project management and leadership skillsets.
• Team player, client focused, and technically competent.
• Excellent verbal communication and writing skills, including technical report writing.
• Structural problem analysis skills (including knowledge / use of design and calculation tools and software).
• Knowledgeable of other standard engineering practices, techniques, and applicable Codes, such as IBC / CBC, AREMA, MRDC, etc.
• Knowledge of current structural modeling software tools.

• Offered rate of compensation for Baton Rouge or New Orleans, LA (greater Louisiana) will be based on the individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location is $95,000.00 - $145,000.00.
