Job Title: Electrical DesignerJob DescriptionAs an Electrical Designer within the Systems Integration team, you will support the development and integration of electrical systems for large mining and highway trucks. Your role will focus on machine-level electrical schematic development, system integration, and coordinating with harness design teams to deliver complete, production-ready electrical solutions. You'll translate product group requirements into electrical schematics, support system-level analysis, and participate in validation and build support activities. This position is heavily design-focused, with the majority of time spent developing schematics in Creo Schematics.
Responsibilities
- Develop machine-level electrical schematics based on requirements from product and platform teams.
- Select and apply appropriate wire gauges, fuses, circuit breakers, power distribution, and protection strategies.
- Ensure designs align with applicable electrical load analysis and system robustness evaluations.
- Support migration from discrete relay-based designs to digitized ECU-based architectures.
- Route electrical inputs into ECUs and design system-level control strategies.
- Work with and understand J1939 networks and two-wire Ethernet.
- Contribute to ECU topology and communication network design.
- Create system-level electrical architecture diagrams using Visio or .
- Translate architecture into Creo Electrical / Creo Schematics designs and release detailed electrical schematics for production.
- Partner closely with harness teams to deliver accurate schematics and produce harness manufacturing documentation.
- Support wiring harness installation audits and machine build efforts.
- Perform and document electrical system load studies and write and execute electrical functional tests.
- Participate in design reviews and cross-functional technical discussions and provide build and field support during machine integration.
Essential Skills- Electrical schematic design experience.
- Proficiency with Creo Schematics or similar electrical CAD tools.
- Understanding of electrical and electronic components, power distribution systems, wire routing, and harness design.
- Familiarity with vehicle or machine electrical systems.
- Working knowledge of communication networks, with a preference for CAN/J1939.
- Mechanical aptitude and hands-on hobbies.
Additional Skills & Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field preferred.
- Associate’s degree with relevant experience will be considered.
Work EnvironmentThis is an office-based role in a building with air conditioning. The primary tool used is Creo Schematics / Creo Electrical, with supporting tools like Visio or for architecture definition. The role requires close collaboration with harness designers, electrical system designers, harness manufacturers, and component designers.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $40.00 - $60.00/hr.
