About the National Constitution Center
The National Constitution Center is a nonpartisan nonprofit organization devoted to teaching about the Constitution. Located on Philadelphia’s historic Independence Mall, steps from where the Constitution was drafted and signed, it serves as America’s leading platform for constitutional education and debate, fulfilling its congressional charter “to disseminate information about the U.S. Constitution on a nonpartisan basis in order to increase awareness and understanding of the Constitution among the American people.”
Position Summary
The Assistant, Strategy & Development will play a key role in the day-to-day administration of the Center’s fundraising team, helping to undergird our operations and lay a strong foundation for cultivating, maintaining, and growing our individual, foundation, and corporate donor and prospect base. Working closely with the Director and Manager of Strategy & Development, key areas of responsibility include donor cultivation and communication, such as mailings, customer service queries, and drafting external communications; conducting donor and prospect research and preparing background briefings for meetings; managing internal tracking systems and ensuring data quality of donors and prospects in the Center’s database and marketing systems; logistical and administrative duties; and other projects as assigned.
This position is the perfect fit for an individual looking for an introduction and exposure to the full range of fundraising and development operations. The ideal candidate is strongly committed to the Center’s nonpartisan mission and motivated by our important task ahead. We welcome candidates who have recently obtained their bachelor’s degree as well as candidates with a couple of years of experience in nonprofit development and fundraising. The individual in this position must be able to exercise discretion on sensitive matters, be well organized, detail-oriented, have strong written and verbal communication skills and great time management, and be able to execute projects and tasks with minimal supervision.
