Job Title : RN Educator – Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF)

Job Summary :

The RN Educator is responsible for planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating educational programs and training initiatives for nursing staff in a skilled nursing facility. This role ensures that all nursing personnel are properly trained, competent, and compliant with regulatory and clinical standards to provide high quality resident care.

Key Responsibilities :

Develop and deliver orientation program for new nursing staff.

Conduct ongoing in-service training and education programs to meet regulatory requirements and address identified skill gaps.

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and policies and procedures through training and education.

Assess staff competencies through skills checklists, observations, and performance evaluations.

Provide coaching, mentoring, and support to nursing staff to ensure the best practices in clinical care.

Collaborate with the Director of Nursing (DON) and other department leaders to identify training needs and quality improvement opportunities.

Maintain accurate records of training sessions, attendance, and staff competencies.

Stay current with developments in nursing practice, clinical guidelines, and long-term care regulations.

Assist with infection control education and safety protocols as needed.

Participate in facility audits, surveys, and inspections as a clinical resource.

Qualifications :

Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in California.

Maximum of 2 years of experience in long-term care or skilled nursing facility setting.

Prior experience in staff education or training is preferred.

Strong communication and presentation skills.

Knowledge of regulatory requirements (e.g., CMS, state DOH).

Ability to assess learning needs and tailor education accordingly.

Proficiency in documentation and record-keeping.
