Shift : Swing Shift or Graveyard Shift available - Must be flexible to work OT and weekends when needed Compensation : $57.83 Per Hour Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc. Qualifications : Four years of mechanical experience as a journeyman mechanic (or equivalent combination of education and experience). Expert knowledge of diesel and / or compressed natural gas engines Waste and recycling industry experience preferred but not mandatory. Experience and knowledge of DOT Out-of-Service Criteria. Knowledge of alternating and direct current electrical controls and motor systems. Valid Class A or B Commercial Drivers License with no restrictions required within 12 weeks of hire. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will : Diagnose, test, and repair vehicles and heavy landfill equipment. Diagnose, test, and repair refuse vehicle and transfer trailer body systems. Diagnose, test, repair, and maintain processing equipment. Perform basic fabrication work. Order and maintain shop parts, tools, equipment, and supplies. Complete paperwork and / or computer database entries. Act as a lead worker, instructing and directing others. Benefits : Paid time off and paid holidays.
