Job description

Our vision is a world of peaceful relationships with food, weight, and body image, where everyone with an eating disorder can experience recovery. We believe that exceptional, individualized care leads to lasting recovery from eating disorders. That's why our teams are comprised of compassionate, dedicated professionals from a variety of backgrounds who collaborate to provide the very best evidence-based care for our clients at all levels of care.

Position Overview :

The Dietetic Technician (DT) plays a vital role as a member of the treatment team, by supporting clients engaged in eating disorder treatment programs. Responsibilities vary by site; at some locations, DTs balance foodservice duties with providing nutrition education to clients, alongside clinical support for registered dietitians. The Dietetic Technician may work across various levels of care and programs (e.g., PHP, IOP, RTC, IP), in both in-person and virtual settings, and may provide coverage at other sites as needed. Flexibility, collaboration, and adaptability are essential qualities for success in this role.

Schedule :

  • Full-time, 40 hours / week
  • Monday-Thursday : 6 : 30am-3pm, Sundays : 9 : 00am-5 : 30pm

How Diet Techs Empower Recovery :

Core Responsibilities (All Sites)

  • Facilitate assigned Therapeutic Supported Meals / Snacks (TSMs) by eating with clients, modeling normalized eating, and supporting use of therapeutic skills and recovery-focused behaviors.
  • Facilitate nutrition experiential, culinary skills, and Food Discovery groups in alignment with the Clinical Operating Manual and standardized curriculum, as assigned.
  • Follow all regulatory and organizational policies and procedures.
  • Maintain confidentiality of former and current clients' protected health information (PHI), as directed by state and federal law, and organizational policy.
  • Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information, including trade secrets, sensitive company information, and other non-public company information.
  • Attend and actively participate in assigned meetings, including regular administrative and clinical supervision with a Registered Dietitian (RD), and request additional supervision as needed
  • Complete all assigned mandatory training.
  • Drive clients, staff, and supplies in the company vehicle as needed.
  • Provide support across multiple levels of care and treatment programs, based on site and / or regional needs and scheduling.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Foodservice and Nutrition Support Responsibilities (Site-Dependent)

  • Manage food, beverage, and supplement inventory, including ordering, receiving, and storage in alignment with approved cycle menus and clients' dietary needs.
  • Assemble and portion meals and snacks, including reheating ready-to-eat items, ensuring proper labeling according to menu, policies, regulations, allergens, and portions.
  • Interpret and implement nutrition orders and prescriptions, including therapeutic diets, meal replacements, and individual meal plans.
  • Support the Registered Dietitian with clinical tasks including data tracking, group preparation, client orientations, growth record requests, tray / meal ticket review / writing, weight collection, individual client portion education, and menu planning.
  • Coordinate with culinary staff to ensure dietary needs are understood; recipes / menus meet nutrition order standards and provide support for recipe adjustments as needed.
  • Coordinate with external catering agencies and restaurants to place orders and ensure client nutrition requirements are met.
  • Set up meals and snacks for clients and programs, assist with menu updates and supporting meal plating and service.
  • Conduct kitchen audits, maintain cleanliness, and ensure organization of kitchen and dining areas.
  • Maintain required food safety documentation, including temperature logs.
  • Education Qualifications :

  • Preferred :
  • A bachelor's or master's degree in nutrition, Dietetics, or Nutrition Science from an ACEND-accredited Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD), OR
