DESCRIPTION
This is a patient facing position required by regulatory. Position will provide coverage for the Neonatal ICU and Newborn Nursery. RD will attend rounds, collaborate with the interdisciplinary team, provide nutrition support (enteral and parenteral) recommendations, and develop and provide nutrition education to patients and NICU team. This position will be the subject matter expert for the NICU and the infant feeding preparation room (IFPR) and will assist with operational guidelines, infant recipe development, Milk Tech onboarding / training, and policies / procedures related to nutrition in the NICU and Newborn Nursery. Additionally, this position will be involved in the develop and implementation of NICU / Newborn nursery projects, performance improvement activities, and research.
Responsibilities include the assessment and implementation of nutrition strategies and initiatives to ensure evidence-based nutrition practice is promoted and provided across the continuum of care. May manage programs, specific to the dietary department, that include formulating strategies and administering policies, processes, and resources. Provides guidance, education, and training to staff and may be involved in the hiring and recruitment of new employees. Functions with a high degree of autonomy. Maintains professional growth and development through advanced certification(s), and professional affiliations, and organizational committees.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Dietitians must possess the equivalent of a Bachelor's Degree in Foods and Nutrition / Dietetics and have completed an Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics internship.
- Licensed Registered Dietitian in the state of California.
- Two (2) years' experience with experience in comparable acuity level.
- In-depth knowledge associated with providing evaluation, assessment, and nutritional therapy services within specialty area(s).
- Knowledge and skills to recommend improvements to nutritional services and consult on quality improvement.
- Excellent skills in working effectively on a team and collaborating with physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary care team.

Annual Full Pay Range : $80,883 - $106,759 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent : $38.74 - $51.13
Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
