Nursing Director Position
The Nursing Director provides leadership and operational direction to Peri-op / Surgical Services at St. Joseph Hospital, partnering with the hospital Chief Operating Officer and other leadership to ensure optimal patient care, financial goals, and leadership development. As the Peri-op Nursing Director, you will :
- Champion the use of available resources to ensure nursing care is efficient, effective, safe, and delivered with compassion.
- Facilitate collaborative decision-making and uphold professional independence.
- Assist with development, implementation, and management of the annual capital / operating and personnel budget.
- Model and foster an environment of professionalism and employee engagement.
- Ensure competent and sufficient number of staff to meet patient care needs.
- Accountable for the implementation of clinical program protocols.
- Collaborate with medical director and system colleagues in the development and implementation of clinical program goals.
- Evaluate staff competency through performance reviews and peer reviews.
- Coordinate performance and compliance with patient safety initiatives.
- Serve as an exemplary figure for employees within all facets of providing patient care.
- Monitor and improve patient satisfaction.
- Partner with physicians at the unit level.
- Support staff participation in outside community organizations.
The Director may have regional accountability or responsibility for multiple departments and reports to the hospital Chief Operating Officer. Job duties are distributed as follows : 20% Tactical, 50% Operational, and 30% Strategic.
Scope : Must have 4-9+ direct reports, dotted or solid line.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience. $58.62 - $90.48
