SUMMARY
The Assistant Director of Retail helps lead and manage daily retail sales operations in partnership with the Director of Retail Sales. As the Assistant Director of Retail , this role supports setting strategic plans and ensuring sales, revenue, and performance goals are achieved through effective team leadership. The Assistant Director of Retail oversees training and standardization of all donated goods retail practices to ensure consistency and quality across locations. This role also manages best practices and production metrics to strengthen operational performance. As the Assistant Director of Retail , the position ensures productivity standards are met by monitoring monthly reports and guiding continuous improvement efforts.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
- Lead and oversee retail sales operations, support services, and waste-reduction programs to meet revenue, market share, and long-range growth goals.
- Analyze financial, market, and demographic trends to identify opportunities, minimize competitive risks, and guide strategic decision-making.
- Strengthen community partnerships by promoting Goodwill Hawaii’s mission, expanding the donation base, and developing new donation collection strategies and sites.
- Provide direct oversight of Maui and Hawaii County retail operations while setting sales, donation, and marketing goals to drive profitability.
- Ensure operational excellence through budget management, performance analysis, policy review, staff training, audits, loss-prevention monitoring, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with administrative teams, lead CARF accreditation activities, ensure compliance with safety standards, and implement corrective actions to meet departmental and budgetary objectives.
