About the Role

The organization is seeking a dynamic Director of Psychiatry to guide its mission of providing exceptional, innovative care and education in the mental health field. The ideal candidate will be a passionate, mission-oriented academic physician leader, committed to addressing disparities in mental health understanding and care. This leadership position involves the management of a thriving department consisting of faculty, staff, researchers, and students, as well as overseeing the creation of new clinical programs that adhere to national best practices, meet patient and community needs, and are financially viable.

The Director will foster strong community relationships and collaborate with various partners for program development. Key responsibilities include advancing the department's educational and research initiatives, particularly in mental health and substance use disorders. The successful candidate should serve as a mentor and educator, encouraging faculty career growth and scholarship while cultivating a supportive culture for education programs.

Additionally, the Director will work closely with the residency training and clerkship programs to achieve their objectives and enhance medical education within the department. This pivotal position within the institution will significantly contribute to its strategic plan and commitment to delivering outstanding care and training future physicians, particularly those dedicated to serving disadvantaged populations.
