Our client is seeking an experienced Director of Marketing to lead marketing strategy and execution for an organization serving complex healthcare and technical markets. This role will own positioning, demand generation, digital marketing, content strategy, and sales enablement, with a strong focus on turning marketing activity into target-account engagement, qualified pipeline, and revenue opportunities.

The Director of Marketing will lead the internal marketing function and external agency partners while working closely with Sales, Engineering, Operations, and other technical teams. The right candidate combines strategic B2B marketing leadership with hands-on knowledge of digital marketing, demand generation, and content development-and knows how to translate complex technical capabilities into clear customer value.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute an integrated B2B marketing strategy aligned with commercial growth goals, target accounts, and priority markets.
• Lead the marketing function and external agency partners across positioning, demand generation, content, and customer engagement.
• Own market positioning, value propositions, messaging, and brand standards across customer touchpoints.
• Build a pull-based demand generation engine that attracts target accounts and creates qualified commercial opportunities.
• Lead digital marketing across the website, SEO/SEM, LinkedIn, email, account-based marketing (ABM), retargeting, and marketing automation.
• Partner with Sales to establish target accounts, lead qualification criteria, CRM handoffs, and shared funnel metrics.
• Develop and manage a content strategy including technical case studies, thought leadership, application stories, videos, and sales collateral.
• Collaborate with Sales, Engineering, Operations, and technical teams to translate complex capabilities into compelling customer value.
• Improve website performance, search and AI discoverability, calls to action, and conversion paths.
• Lead customer, market, and competitive research to identify buyer needs, trends, and opportunities for differentiation.
• Develop marketing plans for industry events and conferences, including pre-event targeting and post-event follow-up.
• Manage marketing budgets, agency relationships, project plans, and performance dashboards with a focus on pipeline, conversion, and ROI.
• Provide leadership and direction to the marketing team.
• Travel approximately 20-30% for customer meetings, industry events, and company-related activities.

Qualifications

• 10-15 years of progressive B2B marketing experience, preferably within medical devices, life sciences, healthcare, contract manufacturing, or another complex technical industry.
• Proven experience leading marketing teams and external agency partners.
• Demonstrated success developing differentiated positioning and demand generation programs that contribute to qualified pipeline and revenue.
• Strong knowledge of digital marketing, content strategy, SEO/SEM, ABM, CRM, and marketing automation.
• Experience developing marketing strategies for complex technical products, services, or manufacturing capabilities.
• Exceptional writing, storytelling, presentation, and analytical skills.
• Ability to translate technical information into clear and compelling business value.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, particularly with Sales, Engineering, Operations, and executive leadership.
• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related discipline.
• Marketing leadership experience within medical devices, life sciences, healthcare, or contract manufacturing.
• Experience marketing to healthcare organizations, OEMs, or other sophisticated B2B buyers.
• Familiarity with long, technical sales cycles and highly regulated industries.
• Experience measuring marketing performance through pipeline contribution, conversion, attribution, and ROI.
