Competitive Pay with annual reviewsComprehensive Benefits Package401K, with contributionCareer Advancement OpportunitiesPaid Time OffThe Director of Marketing & Communications will be responsible for developing and executing a strategic marketing vision for the Kansas City Power & Light District (the "District") that enhances brand awareness, drives foot traffic, supports tenant success, and fosters strong community engagement. This role will oversee all aspects of branding, public relations, content marketing, promotional and advertising campaigns while ensuring alignment across all platforms.
Work with district leadership to develop and implement a comprehensive brand strategy for the District.Oversee all marketing campaigns, digital and traditional, to ensure consistency in messaging, tone, and visual identity.Collaborate with District leadership, , Live! concepts leadership, and tenants to support business success through co-branded initiatives, actions, and cross-promotions.Lead creative direction for all District marketing assets, including signage, advertising, and promotional materials.Work with the District's public relations agency to develop and manage a PR strategy that secures earned media coverage, enhances reputation, and fosters strong relationships with media outlets.Create and manage a monthly PR calendar and corresponding initiatives.Serve as a spokesperson for the District, ensuring brand aligned messaging in all press releases, interviews, and public statements.Cultivate relationships with key community leaders / organizations, influencers, and business partners, to generate positive exposure.Oversee all crisis communications and reputation management efforts.Oversee and implement content strategy for district website, social media, email marketing, and digital advertising.Utilize data-driven insights to optimize marketing efforts and measure ROI.Develop and implement retail leasing marketing strategy including a monthly newsletter and vacant unit campaigns.Support sponsorship presentations and implement sponsorship marketing assets and deliverables.Manage communications with internal and external stakeholders and local businesses or tenants as needed.District event execution in partnership with operations.Qualifications & Skills :
8+ years of experience in marketing, communications, or public relations, preferably in hospitality, real estate, or entertainment.Proven expertise in brand marketing, PR, and digital strategies.Knowledge of social media trends and paid media strategies.Experience managing agencies, freelancers, and vendor relationships.Ability to analyze data and consumer insights to inform marketing strategies.Excellent leadership, collaboration, and project management abilities.Strong oral and written communication skills.
