This position requires you to work with individuals on the Autism Spectrum between the ages of 5-22 years old
The salary range for this position is $55,000-$70,000 annually (salary dictated on level of certifications and experience).
Location of position is in Bronx, NY
Job Summary
QSAC Special Education Teachers require NY State certification (Students with Disabilities / 1-6, 7-12). Teaching responsibilities include implementation of Individualized Education Plans (IEP), classroom management, participation in annual meetings, and completion of required reports. Extensive training and support are provided with opportunities for professional growth and development.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Complete required QSAC orientation.
- Ensure health, safety & welfare of individuals.
- Conduct formal and informal assessments of educational programs and behavior interventions.
- Supervise Teacher’s Assistants / Aides and participate in the implementation of educational programs and behavior interventions.
- Implement and adhere to IEP / Student Program.
- Supervise and implement completion of program / student documentation.
- Supervise and delegate responsibilities to Teacher’s Assistants / Aides.
- Complete and maintain training requirements.
- Complete required program documentation / certifications (e.g. Employee Medicals, PPD, CPR, etc. as required).
- Interact / communicate with parents, college interns, professionals, and other interested visitors.
- Punctuality and regular attendance is expected.
- Maintain participant / family confidentiality.
- Commitment to company values and adherence to policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors and / or senior management.
