WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Perform leadership and management responsibilities for a talented team of software engineers at a variety of points in their career
• Lead one or more software delivery teams
• Be an agile practitioner and help advance the state of Agile at Kipsu
• Plan, estimate and manage software development projects
• Be a member of the application delivery leadership team and participate in strategic and quarterly goal planning, tracking, and execution
• Think intentionally about what makes an inclusive, positive, and productive Engineering culture and work as part of a leadership team within Engineering to reinforce, reassess, and improve how we operate as a team
• Foster an environment of critical thinking and constructive collaboration; assist engineers with breaking down work and helping identify avenues to meet critical deadlines
• Provide review, advice and mentoring to team members regularly
• Collect, monitor and present key performance metrics within software delivery to ensure that we are achieving our goals
• Identify deficiencies in the development processes and support activities to improve them
• Be a point person for regular updates and communication to relevant stakeholders on a portfolio of projects, managing expectations and keeping our customer facing team up-to-date on developments and changes
• Help us increase our delivery predictability through improved systems for estimating and forecasting project delivery
• Help surface and manage trade-off decisions as we manage our work demands
• Assess software engineer performance, conduct regular 1 : 1s and provide feedback
