The Production Planner performs various functions defining and communicating integrated production plans aligned with customer requirements, supply chain capabilities, and overall capacity. Utilizes collaborative project management skills to define internal and external manufacturing processes focused on safety, quality, and on-time delivery. Attain efficiency and differentiated performance through cumulative lead-time and processing criteria.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Training as back up to Production Control Manager
• Receives raw material and works alongside Procurement and Quality to address any issues
• Work alongside Quality, Production and Materials Management to drive the release of work orders as well as monitor all releasable work orders.
• Assist in all production operations administrative tasks
• Close out intermediary work orders for the production floor. (when settled in)
• Serve as back up for the Production Control Manager. (when settled in)
• Prepare and release travelers, optimizing work orders to meet EOQ values
• Perform other job-related duties as may be assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

• A degree in business administration and / or 4-5 years of production planning experience
• Excellent planning and time management skills
• Excellent computer literacy skills, data base program experience, and superior Microsoft Excel skills; ability to understand and optimize ERP functionality
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Must be able to work in a team environment cordially and effectively, as well as having the ability to drive performance improvements
• Must have excellent interpersonal skills
• Must have strong leadership abilities
• Must exhibit a high level of flexibility with proven multi-tasking skills
• Must be able to work with little or no supervision
• Must possess good reasoning and problem-solving abilities
• Must possess a basic knowledge of supply chain activities
