Job Description
The Payroll Specialist will support the payroll functions of the organization, ensuring pay is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations. We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist to ensure our payroll accounting and reporting is processed timely, accurately and efficiently for our organization. The ideal candidate will possess a strong knowledge of multi-state payroll processing, general ledger activity, finance terminology, BI reporting / metrics skills, and savvy with payroll / timekeeping software applications. This position requires a proactive individual who can manage high-volume payroll tasks, resolve discrepancies, and support the overall payroll function.
Responsibilities
- Implements, maintains, and reviews payroll processing and accounting interfaces to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions
- Prepare and analyze necessary payroll reporting to identify anomalies and implement proactive measures while ensuring proper compliance
- Ensures payroll accounts are balanced by resolving payroll discrepancies and partnering with Accounting, Shared Services, Compensation, Benefits and HRIS for timely resolution
- Ensures accuracy, timely reconciliation, and prompt payment of payroll deductions and benefits (supports ad hoc issues for garnishments, 401K match, tax withholding, etc.)
- Develop and maintain HR and Payroll reports, including UKG dashboard reports, for Directors and Managers.
- Build and deliver Business Intelligence reports to fit the business needs including payroll metrics
- Participate in payroll system changes, user acceptance testing, and validation processes.
- Utilize UKG Dimensions timekeeping software for accurate data entry, report generation, and system maintenance.
- Troubleshoot UKG Dimension issues and submit tickets directly to UKG until resolved
- Create and educate timekeeping analytics from UKG Dimensions
- Collaborate with Accounting, HR and Payroll team to optimize systems for scalability and efficiency.
- Configure, maintain, and optimize UKG Dimensions to align with business needs.
- Design and implement benefit plans, payroll configurations, and timekeeping policies within UKG systems
- Assist with UKG Dimensions troubleshooting and respond to employee questions
- Facilitates audits by providing records and documentation to auditors.
- Prepare and reconcile general ledger after each payroll and provide to accounting
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll matters
- Assist with payroll-related projects and initiatives as needed
Qualifications
3-5 years experience
