Job descriptionAssist in developing and leading a collaborative team of residential support specialists to operate high-quality, multi-dimensional residential services. Support routine meetings with assigned departments to ensure alignment and coordination. Convey the agency's mission, vision, and philosophy through both formal and informal communications with residential support specialists. Provide direct instruction, coaching, and behavioral modeling to support specialists in performing their duties. Assist in providing residential support staffing as indicated in annual budgets, offering direct coverage in emergencies, and maintaining 24-hour on-call management coverage. Aid in the implementation and oversight of activities supporting the operation of assigned Community Living departments. Ensure the full implementation and documentation of the ISP for each person served, attending all assessment and ISP meetings. Ensure all staff are aware of and trained on Behavior Support Plans and collect required data accurately. Maintain the safety and security of residences and vehicles, ensuring they are in a safe, secure, and aesthetically pleasing condition. Ensure the safety of people supported, report all incidents promptly, and participate in investigations as required. Coordinate medical care based on the ISPs, recognizing and responding to health or behavioral changes, scheduling appointments, and attending medical visits with individuals. Ensure medications are properly ordered, obtained, and administered according to physician orders, monitoring Medication Administration Records routinely. Ensure that all ancillary services, including plans, therapies, or other services identified in the individuals' ISP, are available in a timely and efficient manner. Ensure compliance and quality assurance of all records for individuals and the assigned department through routine review and maintenance. Facilitate the planning and implementation of community activities by residents, ensuring ISP goals are addressed. Assist in managing individuals' funds according to agency policies and procedures, working cooperatively with the Program Director and Program Coordinator. Complete all administrative duties, including billing documentation. Participate in staff recruitment, orientation, training, observations, and evaluations. Oversee staff electronic timekeeping, ensuring accuracy before Program Director approval each pay period. Attend and participate in all relevant agency events, workshops, training, and meetings. Perform other job-related duties as assigned. Knowledge of St. John's Community Services policies and procedures. Ability to act as a representative of St. John's Community Services to the public. Effective communication skills with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Ability to prepare and maintain accurate records. Supervisory and training skills. Ability to instruct persons with disabilities in various skill areas. Proficiency in operating relevant computer systems and office machines High school diploma or G.E.D. required Requires two or more years related experience working with persons with disabilities; experience in community based programs preferred; Must meet SJCS and funding jurisdiction current requirements for criminal background / records check. Valid health certificate to meet current funding jurisdiction requirements; Valid state-issued driver's license with current driving record in good standing required.

SUPERVISED BY : Program Manager / Program Director
Job Summary : The Lead DSP position supports the individual needs of people with disabilities served in group homes or supported living arrangements. The role ensures safe, normalized living situations where self-direction, community integration, and the development of independent daily living skills are continuously fostered. As the second-in-command, the Lead DSP assists in the management and operation of residential services and supports the Team Leader.
