Job Summary
This position is a Limited role with a 1 year contract with possibility for FTE position, as needed
The Labor Services (aka Moves and Installations) business unit reports to the Distribution Manager at Supply Chain Management - Logistics who in turn reports to the Director of SCM Logistics.
The business lines within SCM Logistics are alcohol and medical compressed gas commodities, cross docking, top volume commodity sales, asset storage that includes freezer farm services, incoming and outgoing mail services, surplus collection and reallocation disbursement and labor services (i.e. office relocations, installation services, equipment delivery, storage pickup and delivery, etc).
The truck driver position exists to provide for the safe transport and delivery of items to and from the Oyster Point Warehouse serving all the various university locations. Additionally, drivers may provide any of the following services : office moves or reconfigurations, furniture and equipment assembly, installations, surplus and storage pick-up and delivery, medical cylinder, alcohol, cross dock and mail pick-up and delivery, view upcoming customer jobs, work with hand-held warehouse management devices, etc.
The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.
Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.
The salary range for this position is $30.09 - $40.51 (Hourly Rate).

Required Qualifications
- High School diploma, GED or equivalency
- Previous industrial truck driving experience
- Must be able to lift 70 pounds.
- Maintain valid California Class B Commercial Driver's License
- Clean driving record on file with DMV with no restrictions other than corrective lenses
- Maintain valid California Class B Commercial Driver's License
- Clean driving record on file with DMV with no restrictions other than corrective lenses
- Must possess at time of hire :
- DMV Hazardous Materials Certification
- Airbrakes Certification
- Fingerprint clearance via Homeland Security
- Proficiency in all aspects of driving and monitoring a 24' bed truck
- Computer literacy to effectively utilize warehouse management system tools, timekeeping software, etc. Must be able to read and assemble equipment and furniture from vendor provided instructions
- Mathematical ability to perform basic calculation and accurate measurement assessments
- Required to be on the university's DMV Pull List and must pass periodic Department of Transportation (DOT) random drug tests. Annual DOT physical certification is required to ensure on-going employment.
- Must be able to lift, pick-up, bend, push, pull, grasp, crawl, stretch, traverse stairs, etc., sometimes within a limited space while carrying items of various sizes, shapes and weight.
