What to Expect as an Echo Technologist :

  • Primary Responsibilities : Calibrate and use medical diagnostic imaging machines to capture images of patients' hearts.
  • Echocardiography Operations : Operate echocardiography machines to record and assess heart wall motion, valvular function, and kinesis, aiding in the diagnosis of cardiac and valvular disorders.
  • Assist with Stress Testing : Participate in stress testing and other non-invasive cardiopulmonary diagnostic testing procedures as requested by physicians.
  • Competency Areas : Demonstrate expertise in all areas of echocardiography, including transthoracic echo, transesophageal echo, stress echo, and pharmacologic-induced stress echo.

    • Required Qualifications :

  • Education : Minimum of one year of technical training in an approved AMA / ACCA Sonographer Program with a Certificate of Completion.
  • Certifications : Registered Cardiac Diagnostic Sonographer and BLS certification required.
  • Experience : Minimum of one year of recent hospital or clinical experience preferred.
