Job Description
The Assistant Editor / Translator , under general supervision, provides review, editing, and translations to ensure proper grammar, clarity, organization, style, format, consistency, and ADA compliance to support the development of educational materials.
Responsibilities
- Supports the development of educational products :
- Edits, proofreads, and formats educational materials according to internal style, readability, and accessibility standards for target audiences.
- Assists with ADA compliance for online materials, including captioning videos and developing transcripts.
- Assists instructional design team by verifying and organizing finalized educational content.
- Reviews course materials to ensure quality control.
- Tracks the status of assigned projects to ensure work stays on schedule and meets deadlines.
- Addresses the needs of Spanish-speaking learners :
- Translates edited copy from English to Spanish maintaining internal style, readability, and accessibility standards for target audiences.
- Records narrations for online courses in English and Spanish by reading from a script.
- Collaborates across internal working groups to ensure needs are met from pre-production to launch.
