Under the general supervision of the Education Administrator I of the Integrated Student Support and Programs Office (ISSPO) and the Director of the Student Achievement and Support Division (SASD), and working cooperatively with program units and managers throughout the California Department of Education (CDE), the Education Programs Consultant provides statewide leadership, coordination, and support in working with the American Indian Education Oversight Committee and American Indian Education Centers.
Administers, monitors, and provides technical assistance to the American Indian Education Centers (AIEC) in California regarding curriculum and instructional strategies. Assures alignment of AIEC programs with state and federal requirements such as funding, budget, audit reports, and data acquisition. Promotes CDE initiatives in reading and mathematics to Center directors, boards of directors, and parent advisory committees. Provides required information and documentation for the state budget and legislative hearings. Prepares required reports to ensure the continuation of legislative mandates.

This position is headquartered in Sacramento and may be eligible for a hybrid telework schedule for eligible applicants residing in California. A hybrid telework schedule includes working remotely and physically reporting to the office.
