Position : Exceptional Student Education Specialist
Compensation Rate : Pays up to $50
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Understands central concepts, tools of inquiry, and structure of learning and how to support exceptional students and their families.
- Develops a climate and culture of openness, fairness, mutual respect, support and inquiry.
- Listens and interacts effectively with students, parents, colleagues, and community members, respecting diverse perspectives.
- Demonstrates respect for students, colleagues, administrators, and parents.
- Works effectively with school colleagues, parents, and the community to support students’ learning and well-being.
- Adheres to all Special Education laws and is able to coordinate meetings with district and school personnel to address exceptional student learning needs, goals and objectives.
- Provides positive and constructive feedback to students and is able to monitor and measure student growth as outlined in IEP.
- Writes and updates IEP and 504 accommodation plans based on student learning goals and objectives.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
