Responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Blind and Low Vision Education.
- Advise and mentor students.
- Facilitate and supervise field placements (i.e., practicum and internship).
- Meet administrative expectations related to maintaining and reporting of program standards and activities as required by the state, college, university, and the professional discipline.
- Grow and support existing partnerships / relationships with schools and regional providers who serve individuals with visual impairments.

The School of Teacher Education at Florida State University invites applications for a visiting line position in the Blind and Low Vision Education Program (previously the Visual Disabilities Program). This visiting line is intended to provide talented and aspiring candidates with experience and mentorship that will set them up to apply for the role of Program Leader of the Blind and Low Vision Education Program. We seek a colleague who will support the Blind and Low Vision Education Program’s commitment to preparing high-quality teachers of students with visual impairments. The successful candidate will primarily teach students enrolled in the BS / MS Blind and Low Vision pathway and the master’s degree programs and assist in mentoring and supervising students. Our goal is to prepare teaching professionals who not only transform the lives of their students but also seek to improve their schools, communities, academic disciplines, and professions.
