Leidos is on the lookout for an Electric Transmission Design Engineer to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced environment. You will tackle challenging problems related to electric transmission design.

As a key contributor, you will work on high-voltage transmission line design projects, both overhead and underground, for major utility clients across the nation. You will be applying standards such as NESC, ASCE, and ACI in the engineering and design of electrical systems, voltage conversion projects, new capacity initiatives, and infrastructure replacements.

In this role, you will perform engineering analyses, draft plans and specifications, prepare bidding documents, and manage material procurement and construction documentation. Focusing on independent execution, you will utilize tools like PLS-CADD and PLS-POLE and contribute to our quality control processes, collaborating with multi-person teams and supporting clients, project planning, environmental, permitting, and construction management personnel.

Work Locations : Ideal candidates should be willing to work hybrid schedules in Michigan, Ohio, West Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, or New Jersey. We also offer fully REMOTE positions for qualified applicants. Relocation assistance is available for those who can relocate to within a commutable distance of Walled Lake, MI, or Cranberry Township, PA.

The Challenge :

• Execute technical design and engineering tasks for high-voltage transmission lines, ensuring compliance with all applicable codes and standards.
• Prepare and review technical drawings, specifications, and calculations under the supervision of Lead Engineers or Project Managers.
• Conduct engineering analyses, including PLS-CADD modeling and structure loading calculations.
• Contribute to the team’s continuous improvement goals by learning and applying new technical tools, AI, and automation platforms.
• Communicate and coordinate project progress actively with the Project Manager to maintain project schedule and budget adherence.
• Maintain strong technical proficiency in industry-standard software and Leidos design processes.

Pay Range : $59,150.00 - $106,925.00
