Job descriptionCompetitive weekly pay starting at $20.25 / hour, increasing to $24 / hour upon certification. Earn additional income with $5 per set of wiper blades added for customer safety. Comprehensive benefits package valued at over $10k, including a 401(k) plan with company matching, medical plans, paid time off, holidays, and volunteer days. Flexible program for buying additional PTO or selling unused time up to 16 hours. Annual tuition reimbursement up to $5,250. Paid training and access to all necessary tools and resources for your success. High School Diploma or GED preferred. A valid state-issued driver's license is required to operate a company vehicle. Must be at least 18 years of age. Capable of lifting up to 35 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally. Ability to stand for long periods and work in tight spaces. Experience using hand tools and power tools safely. Must adhere to all traffic laws while operating a vehicle, agreeing to be monitored via in-cab safety technology. A dedication to providing exceptional customer service and exceeding expectations. Willingness to work in various weather conditions for extended durations. Ability to handle chemicals safely and effectively in alignment with our standards. Flexible availability to meet customer needs. Proficient in computerized diagnostic tools for recalibrations and troubleshooting. Strong problem-solving skills, capable of working both independently and collaboratively. Capability to communicate clearly in English, both verbally and in writing. Professional appearance and adherence to company dress code. Position Overview
As an Automotive Technician Apprentice, you will undergo comprehensive training to become a skilled auto glass technician. Upon successful completion of our training program, you will receive the Safelite SafeTech certification, equipping you with the essential skills to perform glass repairs, replacements, and recalibrations independently. We look for candidates who embody the Safelite Spirit with a positive attitude, a caring heart, and a commitment to customer service, aiming to make every customer experience exceptional.
Your Responsibilities
- Engage in paid apprenticeship while learning the Safelite way through both hands-on and classroom training.
- Observe and assist in the installation and repair of auto glass.
- Recalibrate automotive safety systems by troubleshooting and conducting diagnostic testing.
- Offer additional services and products to enhance customer safety.
- Study diligently to pass certification tests and demonstrate installation proficiency following our training.
- Safely operate company and customer vehicles, using company-issued tools and materials throughout your workday.
- Complete other assigned tasks as necessary.
- Adhere to all company policies and standards.
