The Electrical and Instrumentation Technician will report to the Maintenance Engineer and provide support in maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and replacing plant equipment and systems to ensure optimal plant performance. This role requires strong expertise in electrical components and instrumentation. The technician will support company policies, goals, and objectives while representing the company in a professional manner.
Essential Job Functions :
- Support the company's safety, health, environmental, and quality programs and policies.
- Troubleshoot, install, perform routine maintenance, and repair manufacturing equipment.
- Utilize the company's Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to minimize downtime, maximize plant performance, and preserve assets.
- Ensure parts used for work orders are recorded accurately in CMMS.
- Perform complex troubleshooting, installation, and maintenance on electrical components, instruments, computer / PLC-controlled systems, and mechanical equipment.
- Demonstrate proficiency in personal computer skills and the use of electrical and mechanical programs.
- Handle PLC hardware and programming tasks.
- Manage DCS hardware.
- Interpret electrical, mechanical, and P&ID prints.
- Assist other Maintenance Technicians as scheduled.
- Keep facilities and grounds clean, well-kept, and operating efficiently.
- Participate in plant projects as needed.
- Be available to perform essential tasks outside of normal working hours as necessary.
- Follow local, state, and federal regulations applicable to the maintenance department.
- Complete all tasks assigned by the Maintenance Engineer.
- Support a positive team environment that encourages creative problem solving and shared learning.
- Maintain confidentiality of all records and company matters.
- Represent the company positively in the community.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Must hold a certified electrician license in the state of Nebraska.
- Technical degree or certification in an electrical / instrumentation-related field.
- At least 5 years of electrical / instrumentation experience, or relevant education.
- Detail-oriented with strong communication, organizational, time-management, and troubleshooting skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
- Ability to work on a rotating on-call schedule during weekends and holidays.
- The position requires walking, standing, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, seeing, talking, hearing, and repetitive motion.
- Must be able to ascend and descend stairs and ladders up to 200 feet.
- Ability to work while standing for extended periods.
- Ability to enter confined spaces.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Willingness to work around dust, chemicals, and other substances.
- Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, steel-toed boots, and hearing protection.
- Ability to communicate using a 2-way radio system.
- Respond to and support emergency situations 24 / 7 during the assigned stand-by week and work outside of normal hours when needed.

Minimum Requirements :
Maintenance experience in an industrial environment, preferably within the ethanol industry, is required.
