MEP Building Systems
Hybrid | Boston or New York City
A national powerhouse MEP consulting engineering firm is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer for its Boston or New York City office.
This role is for an experienced electrical designer who wants to work on technically demanding building projects, not repetitive production work. Projects span science and technology, mission critical, healthcare, higher education, and sophisticated commercial facilities where electrical systems are central to performance.
The role
You will work as part of an integrated MEP team designing building electrical systems from concept through construction. The focus is hands on design, coordination across disciplines, and collaboration with senior engineers.
Work includes:
• Power distribution, lighting, and life safety systems
• Electrical infrastructure for complex facilities
• Multidisciplinary coordination within an MEP environment
Why engineers stay
Many engineers have built long careers at the firm, with a substantial number exceeding ten and even twenty years of tenure. That continuity creates strong mentorship, technical depth, and consistency across teams.
