Vitro Architectural glass operates glass manufacturing facilities in Canada, Mexico and United States. At their facility in Salem, Oregon, Vitro operates a large area vacuum coater to deposit Low-E coatings on clear and tinted glass sheets. These sheets are used in the manufacture of Insulated Glass Units (IGUs) destined for residential, commercial and institutional construction.
This facility seeks an Engineer interested in industrial controls and automation. PLC controls and automation experience would be a plus not is required. With the support of our team, the successful candidate will be required to develop the skills necessary to be successful in this position.
The position is in-person in both office and production areas and has a 5 day workweek schedule with occasional after hours and weekends required to support production and projects. This position is required to be open to relocation to other facilities in Texas and Pennsylvania.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities :
The incumbent is responsible for the maintenance, installation, and development of automation and control equipment and software in the facility. As part of the manufacturing team, she / he is responsible for ensuring the facility meets its corporate goals for production, costs, quality, safety, housekeeping and environmental stewardship.
Requirements :
- Electrical, Electronic or Mechatronic Engineering Degree (or Alternate with Experience)
- Demonstrated computer application skills.
- Ability to problem solve and analyze information effectively.
- Ability to identify and execute continuous improvement activities.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a small diverse team.
- Demonstrated self motivated worker and learner
- Must be relocatable to Texas or Pennsylvania
Qualifications
This position requires a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related science field (3 years). They must demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of sound engineering principles and sound technical judgement. They must demonstrate the ability to build effective work teams with all levels of plant personnel.
Preferred :
Experience with PLC’s - Rockwell Automation preferredExperience with Industrial HMI’s – Aveva preferred
