This position is open for both O&M Technician Level II and III, with leveling based on relevant experience.

Hourly Rate : $35.22 - $56.96, depending on experience.

Shift : 2pm - 10pm.

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

The main responsibilities include operating, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining all high-voltage electrical and integrated control equipment to ensure efficient plant operations and maximize asset value.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Utilize a computerized maintenance management system to manage work order processes and spare parts inventory, performing maintenance and repairs on a variety of plant equipment.
  • Operate, monitor, and maintain turbines, generators, pumps, scrubbers, boilers, motors, and other auxiliary equipment.
  • Train and mentor colleagues in preventive maintenance and routine service activities while promoting safety and environmental stewardship.
  • Lead problem identification initiatives and recommend effective solutions.
  • Perform predictive and preventive maintenance on equipment.
  • Conduct electrical maintenance on generators, transformers, and motor-operated valves (MOVs).
  • Engage in troubleshooting of control circuits, motors, and electrical components using specialized test instruments.
  • Develop and maintain operating procedures to ensure safe and consistent equipment operation.
  • Ensure all work is done safely and efficiently while adhering to environmental and housekeeping standards.
  • Assist in the procurement of parts and supplies.
  • Fulfill additional duties as assigned.

POSITION SCOPE

The individual in this role must effectively communicate across all levels of the organization and possess a strong knowledge of PLCs, Ovation, and GE Mark 6 Digital Control Systems.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • An Associate's Degree in Power Plant Technology, Engineering Technology, or Electronics, OR
  • A High School Diploma with at least 18 months of technical training in Power Plant Technology.
  • Successful completion of all required training and time-in-job expectations, including passing the EEI TECH test.
  • Relevant electrical experience.
  • Willingness to work day shifts and overtime as needed.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
  • Familiarity with power plant schematic diagrams.
  • A valid driver's license and access to an insured vehicle.
  • Ability to navigate the power plant environment, including climbing and walking long distances.
  • Capability to lift at least 50 pounds.
