MKD Electric is seeking an experienced Fabrication Shop Helper . As part of this role…

• Assist welders and fabricators with various tasks in the shop
• Prepare materials for welding and fabrication by cutting, grinding, and cleaning metal surfaces
• Loading and cutting sheets on plasma table
• Loading and cutting materials with automatic bandsaw
• Assist with loading and unloading of trucks
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment
• Follow all safety protocols and procedures
• Assisting with measurements and installation when needed
• Assisting with assembly (bolting parts together)
• Prime and paint parts
• Perform other duties as assigned by Lead
• Basic understanding of welding and fabrication processes
• Mechanically inclined
• Ability to driving Forklift
• Ability to use overhead crane
• Ability to use hand tools and basic machinery
• Ability to take accurate and reliable measurements
• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
• Attention to detail and commitment to safety
• Previous experience in a similar role is a plus
• Previous experience spray painting is a plus

• Must be able to lift to 20-30 pounds independently; lifting from knee to shoulder heights; other lifting required from various levels
• Must be able to remain stationary position for extended periods of time, prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
• Must be able to lift to 60 pounds independently; lifting from knee to shoulder heights; other lifting required from various levels.
• Must be able to carry and transport up to 60 pounds up to 20 feet.
• Requires standing for extended period with frequent stretching, reaching, walking, and stooping, pushing and / or pulling in an environment that may be cold, hot, noisy, and wet and may have fumes or odors.
