Job description

Our league was born out of a collective desire to empower ourselves and reimagine women's hockey. Here, we combine grit with grace and speed with style. We move beyond discrimination in a spirit of togetherness. We elevate every one of our athletes. We commit to taking risks that will drive our growth. And we challenge ourselves to inspire future generations to dream bigger. Because this moment is bigger than all of us.

JOB DESCRIPTION :

As a valued member of the Ticketing and Business Operations teams, the Coordinator, Fan Development & Group Sales will be responsible for developing and implementing marketing strategies to increase brand awareness, interest, engagement and ultimately group sales revenue for the Fleet. This is an exciting opportunity to join the Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL) on the ground floor and be a part of building a successful professional league. We are looking for someone who is highly motivated, positive and resilient to join our Boston Fleet team.

Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Identify, establish, and manage partnerships with community organizations to create in-game and non-game day community engagement opportunities for the Boson Fleet.
  • Collaborate with community partners to develop group sales and coordinate in-game activations, such as pre-game panels, anthem buddies and intermission scrimmages, managing all aspects from pre-game preparation to execution.
  • Develop community-based marketing strategies to drive group sales, focused on events, contests & promotions, and complimentary ticketing programs.
  • Seek external community events for the Boston Fleet to participate in, ensuring strong representation throughout the greater Boston area.
  • Expand the Fleet's marketing database by integrating data capture opportunities and event registrations into all community-based activities.
  • Build relationships with other Boston sports teams to explore collaboration opportunities (e.g., Fleet players coaching youth camps or tabling at local games).
  • Support the Game Presentation team to align in-game community activations with unity and theme night events.
  • Plan and execute season ticket member and fan engagement events, including programming, budgeting, and involving community partners as needed.
  • Facilitate and manage group sales, including opportunities for attendees to participate in in-game activations.
  • Partner with Social Media, Content, and Fan Experience teams to develop and implement fan engagement contests, enhancing interaction and generating leads for future ticket sales.
  • Manage local camps and clinics in collaboration with league and team hockey operations departments.
  • Collaborate with Social Media and Content teams to capture and share footage of community activations, creating content that highlights the Fleet's community impact.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Team Business Operations

Qualifications :

  • 2-4 Years of Proven Success and Experience in Fan Experience and Group Sales preferably in the sports industry
  • Previous experience in sports sales, fan experience, events, or marketing
  • Able to work non-traditional hours, in non-traditional settings, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
  • We are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, age, disability, gender identity, marital or veteran status, or any other protected class.

    Job Questions :

  • Please describe your work experience in fan development / group sales (coordinating with schools, youth sports, fairs, etc) to build brand awareness.
  • How long would you need to start a new role / relocate (if offered the position). This is an on site role in Boston and unable to be done remotely.
  • I understand the pay rate range for this position is $19.50 / HR USD
  • Will you be able to work a flexible schedule including the ability to attend all home games and events throughout the year?
  • I understand that this is a sales position. What experience do have working in group sales (with cold calling)?
  • Do you have any hockey playing experience?
