UnityPoint Clinic is a physician-led, nonprofit health care organization offering comprehensive services in primary care, walk-in care and specialty care. UnityPoint Health – Cedar Rapids serves a seven-county area surrounding Cedar Rapids. The Tower Terrace clinic is a brand new facility, built in 2022. The clinic will increase access to primary care in the community. The 11,500-square-foot facility will offer family medicine and pediatric services. Patients will be able to schedule routine visits such as wellness exams and vaccinations as well as be seen for non-emergent, acute illnesses.UnityPoint Health identified the city of Marion as one of the fastest-growing communities in the metro area, with an 18.5% growth in the last decade. Additionally, Tower Terrace Road is expected to become a main arterial connecting Marion, Cedar Rapids and Hiawatha within the next five years.

Practice serving the Marion community

Opportunity to practice outpatient medicine in an established and well-known clinic

Cohesive group of colleagues and supportive staff allowing for autonomy while building the practice according to your preferences

Experienced staff, both clinical and non-clinical, who know the patients and the community

Full-time position, including dedicated administrative time, with flexible scheduling to ensure sufficient patient access

24 / 7 hospitalist program is responsible for adult and pediatric inpatients

Fully integrated system with clinics and hospitals on EPIC EMR to improve care coordination

Responsibilities

Clinic hours : Monday – Friday 7 : 30am – 6pm and Saturday 8am – 12pm; Saturdays are not currently part of the clinic hours, plan to expand on a rotating basis.

Shared call amongst the providers; Calls are first triaged through MyNurse

Ability to work as a team member to improve the health of the people and communities we serve

General family medicine procedures such as joint injections, skin excisions, lacerations, casting, etc.

Evaluates, interprets and coordinates information to make decisions and recommendations regarding patient care

Patient-focused, friendly and willing to collaborate in a team environment

Excellent communication (written and verbal), analytical and problem-solving skills

Qualifications

MD or DO

Board Eligible or Board Certified in Family Medicine

Ability to obtain and hold an unrestricted license to practice in the state of Iowa

Hold current and unrestricted state and federal authority to prescribe and administer medications as necessary or appropriate to the physician’s field of practice

Eligible to work in the United States (H1-B cap exempt)
