Job Summary
Emergency Room Nurse in Spokane, Washington. This position involves providing high-quality emergency care within a busy trauma center. The role requires delivering patient-centered care for a diverse patient population, including trauma, cardiac, stroke, and general medical cases, emphasizing teamwork and stress management in a fast-paced environment.

Job Details

Shift Hours: 12-hour night shifts
Minimum Hours Per Week: 36 hours
Start Date: 08/24/2026
Required Qualifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, MOAB/Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification; additional certifications such as TNCC, ENPC, or ATCN preferred; 3-5 years of experience in a Level 3 or higher trauma center; EPIC electronic medical record (EMR) experience required for preceptors and traditional travelers.
Skills: RSI, conscious sedations, lines/drains/tubes, general emergency room skills
Support on the Unit: CNA/ER Techs (2-4 depending on shift), phlebotomy performed by RN, resource nurse, RT available 24/7, hospitalist coverage 24/7, bedside and centralized telemetry monitoring
Technology/Equipment: EPIC EMR, IV pumps (Alaris), Pyxis medication dispensing, monitors
Orientation: 1 week general orientation, 24 weeks unit-specific orientation; preceptors will train over 1-2 shifts, then 2-3 weeks on the unit
Scheduling: Weekend rotation every other weekend; on-call as needed; holiday shifts as required; 7 days' notice for time off, with additional time approved by nurse manager
Additional Notes: Utilizes 1:1 model for patient care; professional scrub colors; free parking; a supportive environment with an emphasis on teamwork despite stressors; unit is known for excellent collaboration and patient care standards.
