Job description

Description:

Account Executive, Employee Health & Benefits

Award-winning, inclusive, Top Workplace culture doesn’t happen overnight. It’s a result of hard work by extraordinary people. The industry’s brightest talent drive our efforts to deliver purposeful work and meaningful impact every day. Learn more about what makes us different and how you can make your mark as an Account Executive, Employee Health & Benefits at MMA.

Marsh McLennan Agency (MMA) provides business insurance, employee health & benefits, retirement, and private client insurance solutions to organizations and individuals seeking limitless possibilities. With offices across North America, we combine the personalized service model of a local consultant with the global resources of the world’s leading professional services firm, Marsh (NYSE: MRSH).

A day in the life.

A day in the life of an Account Executive, Employee Health & Benefits, involves a dynamic blend of client relationship management, strategic planning, and coordination across multiple teams. The Account Executive actively builds and maintains strong relationships with key clients and carriers through phone, email, and in-person interactions, ensuring a deep understanding of each client’s business needs and risk management goals. They develop and execute comprehensive client service plans tailored to assigned accounts, while coordinating internal and external activities to manage both new and renewal accounts efficiently and professionally. A critical part of their role is identifying cross-sell opportunities and recommending new lines of coverage that align with client objectives.

In addition to client-facing responsibilities, the Account Executive collaborates closely with Producers and Marketing Account Executives to oversee the renewal process, coordinating meetings to present renewal proposals and supporting documentation. They lead marketing efforts for accounts as needed, prepare and present marketing materials, and ensure smooth implementation by working alongside service teams to deliver all necessary forms and documentation. The role also includes assisting clients and internal staff with service questions related to administration, billing, and claims, while maintaining detailed records in client management systems to track policies, meetings, and follow-ups. Continuous professional development is essential, with the Account Executive attending seminars and carrier meetings to stay current on new products and legislative changes. Mentoring team members and handling additional duties as assigned round out the multifaceted responsibilities of this role.

Our future colleague.

We’d love to meet you if your professional track record includes these skills:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and related training
  • 5+ years of relevant insurance industry experience
  • Strong client relations skills; including excellent communication skills and service orientation, cooperative nature, and tactfulness to resolve client and company problems
  • Ability to utilize leadership skills by providing direction, constructive feedback, development and training while additionally being able to motivate others to maximize productivity and team morale
  • Strong understanding of EHB claims data
  • Demonstrated skillset with Microsoft Office and proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint

These additional qualifications are a plus, but not required to apply:

  • Life & Health License or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment
  • Advanced degree
  • Certification or designation
  • Experience with Requests for Proposal

We know there are excellent candidates who might not check all of these boxes. Don’t be shy. If you’re close, we’d be very interested in meeting you.
