  • Review and approve Method of Procedure (MOP) and Energized Work Permits.

  • Collaborate with the Commissioning Authority to validate energization boundaries.

  • Verify proper labeling and arc flash studies are conducted prior to energization.

  • Manage the transition from temporary power to permanent power.

  • Supervise black building tests and integrated systems testing (IST).

  • Ensure redundancy integrity (N, N+1, 2N systems) is maintained.

  • Conduct daily field audits for LOTO compliance.

  • Enforce NFPA 70E arc flash and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements.

  • Utilize stop work authority when unsafe energy conditions arise.

  • Lead energy hazard pre-task planning discussions.

  • Monitor battery safety, fuel systems, and stored energy risks.

  • Maintain a master energization matrix and track the real-time status of energized systems.

  • Update red-line one-line diagrams as necessary.

  • Provide daily energy status reports to project leadership and clients.

  • Document all energy-related incidents or near misses.

Essential Skills & Competencies:

  • A mission-critical mindset with exceptional attention to detail.

  • Strong ability to coordinate across multiple MEP disciplines.

  • Decisive leadership skills during high-risk testing events.

  • Excellent communication capabilities with owners, engineers, and commissioning teams.

  • Proficiency in managing fast-paced schedules and phased turnovers.

  • A high school diploma or equivalent (technical or trade background is strongly preferred).

  • Experience in construction supervision in mission-critical or data center environments (8+ years).

  • In-depth experience with electrical and mechanical commissioning of critical systems.

  • Strong grasp of redundancy concepts, system interdependencies, and sequencing.

  • Able to read and interpret drawings, single-line diagrams, and commissioning scripts.

  • Proven leadership in safety-critical environments.

  • Hands-on experience in delivering Tier III or Tier IV data centers.

  • Familiarity with data center commissioning best practices.

  • OSHA 30, NFPA 70E, or equivalent safety certifications.
