An Am Law 100 firm is seeking an Energy Regulatory Associate with four to eight years of experience for their Austin, TX office. The candidate should have experience handling regulatory and compliance matters before the Texas Public Utility Commission and other state energy regulatory commissions, as well as matters before or involving the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) or other ISO / RTOs or organized power markets.
Experience involving advocacy before state utility commissions, or involving power transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, power sales, and related matters, would be beneficial. The candidate will work primarily with attorneys in our Energy & Natural Resources business unit.
The ideal candidate will have excellent academic credentials , a commitment to the community, superior interpersonal skills and a demonstrated record of working well under pressure. The candidate should demonstrate exceptional judgment, the ability to effectively handle multiple projects, and the ability to articulate legal strategies and courses of action. Candidates should have an active Texas bar license or commit to obtaining one as soon as possible.
