Commercial Construction Estimator

Your Responsibilities

In search of a Commercial Construction Estimator who will be responsible for creating estimates for new work and ensuring that pricing is accurate and within company guidelines. This position will also create detailed design documents and blueprints for the installation of cabinets and other products and create visual images of the new layout for customer approval and sign-off.

  • Work closely with customers to gather specific needs, design the configuration of the product(s) and generate an estimate containing all customer requirements.
  • Visit customer sites to verify measurements and perform preliminary site safety inspections.
  • Create CAD drawings of the proposed design.
  • Verify that estimates contain the correct products and quantities.
  • Recommend changes to the design and incorporate any changes requested by the customer.
  • Review the estimate with the sales team to ensure that data is accurate, that all components of the design are captured and properly charged.
  • Modify the estimate per customer or sales manager requests.
  • Provide estimates on change orders for current projects.
  • Respond to customer and sales team questions concerning details on the estimate and/or design.
  • Any other duty, task, or responsibilities as assigned.

Your Skills

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, demonstrated integrity and professionalism.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to perform complex calculations, capable of performing "what if" analyses.
  • Capable of calculating square footage and detailed measurements.
  • Ability to reconfigure measurements in order to change designs.
  • Able to quickly create and modify take-offs or large projects.

Your Qualifications

  • Minimum of 18 years of age.
  • If operating a Company Vehicle, a valid driver's license will be required.
  • Minimum experience: 1 year or more.
  • Required Industry Experience (Construction, Insulation, Trades).
  • Prior quote or estimate creation experience.
  • Prior design experience.
  • Certified design credentials (preferred).
  • Proficient in Office Software like word processing, spreadsheets, database and presentation software.
  • Proficient using CAD (computer aided drawing) software to configure the design of rooms.
  • Capable of compiling professional sales estimates.
  • Knowledgeable of ERP applications (preferably Oracle).

Physical Requirements

Work is performed in a typical office environment and may require standing, bending, lifting boxes or packages under 10 lbs., and remaining in a stationary position for long periods of time. Work requires regularly inputting/retrieving words or data into or from an automated/computer system.

Compensation Range

The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
