Join a company that is pushing the boundaries of what is possible. We are renowned for our technical excellence and leading innovations, and for making a difference to our clients and society. Our workplace embraces diversity and inclusion – it’s a place where you can grow, belong and thrive.
Your day at NTT DATA
We are seeking a dedicated Network Engineer to join our team and serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for a key customer. In this role, you will be responsible for the overall architectural landscape of the customer's network, ensuring its stability, security, and efficiency. You will work closely with a larger team, but you will take the lead in managing and optimizing the customer's network infrastructure.
Key responsibilities include overseeing firewall management, load balancing, maintaining and updating architectural diagrams, and ensuring the robustness of the Cisco-based architecture. Your expertise will be crucial in delivering high-quality network solutions tailored to the customer's needs, providing them with a reliable and secure network environment.
As the go-to expert for this customer, you will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining network solutions that align with their business goals, ensuring seamless operation and continuous improvement of their network infrastructure.
This role involves leading network projects, providing advanced technical support, and mentoring less experienced engineers.
The Senior Network Engineer plays a key role in shaping the network infrastructure strategy.
What you'll be doing
Key Responsibilities :
- Network Architecture and Design : Architect, implement, and maintain a scalable and secure network infrastructure tailored to the customer's specific needs. Develop detailed network diagrams, ensuring all components are efficiently designed for performance, scalability, and redundancy.
- Incident and Problem Management : Serve as the escalation point for complex Level III network issues, including routing, switching, firewall, and load balancing challenges. Lead the root cause analysis and resolution process, minimizing downtime and impact on the customer’s operations. Ensure proper documentation and post-incident reviews.
- Compliance and Security Enforcement : Enforce network architecture and deployment standards, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and security best practices. Oversee the configuration and management of firewalls, VPNs, and other security devices to protect against threats and vulnerabilities.
- Documentation and Reporting : Develop and maintain comprehensive network documentation, including architectural diagrams, configuration details, and operational procedures. Generate regular reports on network performance, capacity, and incident metrics. Ensure accurate and up-to-date documentation is available for the team and stakeholders.
- Mentorship and Training : Mentor and train team members on advanced network technologies, best practices, and troubleshooting techniques. Provide guidance and support to junior engineers, fostering their professional development and ensuring high standards of technical proficiency.
- Ticket Management and SLA Adherence : Oversee the lifecycle of network-related tickets, ensuring they are logged, tracked, and resolved in accordance with defined SLAs. Maintain effective communication with stakeholders, providing updates on ticket status and resolution progress. Implement improvements to ticket management processes to enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction.
- Collaboration and Cross-Functional Coordination : Work closely with enterprise architects, project managers, and other technical teams to align network solutions with broader business objectives. Collaborate on projects involving cloud integrations, data center operations, and application deployments to ensure seamless and effective network support.
- Continuous Improvement : Identify opportunities for network performance improvements, automation of routine tasks, and implementation of new technologies. Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements, integrating new tools and practices to enhance network reliability and efficiency.
- Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity : Develop and implement disaster recovery and business continuity plans to ensure network resilience in the event of failures or emergencies. Regularly test and update these plans to address evolving risks and ensure preparedness.
